[Source] Medicinal material source: leaves or root bark of the Myrsinaceae plant Dendrobium densiflorum.

【Original form】 Large shrub, 2-7m high. Leaves are alternate; petiole is about 1cm long; leaf blade is leathery, oblong-oblanceolate to oblanceolate, 7-17cm long, 1.3-6cm wide, apex is acute or obtuse, rarely suddenly acuminate, base is cuneate, ± decurrent, entire, midrib raised on the back, lateral veins inconspicuous. The inflorescence is borne in umbels or clusters on short branches with imbricate bracts, which are axillary or on leaf scars of leafless old branches. There are 3-10 flowers, and the bracts are broadly ovate and sparsely ciliate; the pedicels are 2-3mm long; the flowers are (2) 3-4mm long; the sepals are ovate, rarely rounded, about 1mm long, ciliate, sometimes with glandular dots; the petals are white or light green, sometimes purple-red, fused at the base for 1/4 of the total length, recurved when flowering, ovate or elliptic, with glandular dots, and densely papillated inside and on the edges; the stamens are degenerate in female flowers and borne in the middle of the corolla in male flowers, with very short filaments, ovate anthers, often with papillae at the apex; the pistil is as long as or longer than the petals, the style is very short, the stigma is elongated, and the apex is flat. The fruit is spherical or nearly ovate, 4-5mm in diameter, gray-green or purple-black, sometimes with longitudinal glandular stripes or longitudinal ribs, crowned with the base of the persistent style, and the fruit pedicel is sometimes up to 7m long.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in mixed forests or moss forests at an altitude of 650-2400m.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and dampness; cools blood and detoxifies. Mainly used for mastitis, furuncle, rash, bladder stones
