[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of the Polypodiaceae plant Waxwings.

【Original morphology】 Plant height 10-15cm. The rhizome is long and horizontal, and together with the base of the petiole, is covered with dark brown, lanceolate, subulate scales, with an oval base and slightly serrated edges. Leaves are subspermous; petiole is 1-2cm long, glabrous; leaf blade is leathery, linear, 6-12cm long, 2-3mm wide, blunt-headed, with both sides of the base extending down to almost the base of the petiole, smooth on the upper side, with occasional small scales along both sides of the midrib on the lower side, and the edges curled back in a beaded shape; the midrib is slightly raised on both sides, the lateral veins are not obvious, the veinlets are reticulate, and the internal veinlets are often forked. The sporangium is oval or oblong, borne dorsally between the midrib and the center of the leaf edge, often half covered by the curled leaf margin, causing the fertile part of the leaf blade to become beaded; when young, it is covered with shield-shaped septa.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing between rock walls on hillside roadsides at an altitude of 600-1000m.
