[Source] It is the flower of the Sapindaceae plant Koelreuteria paniculata .

[Original form] Koelreuteria paniculata (Zheng Zi Tong), also known as: Muluan (Meng Xi Bitan), stone Koelreuteria paniculata, black leaf tree, Mulanya, Camellia sinensis, and soft stick.

[Habitat distribution] It mostly grows in mixed woods or shrub forests. Distributed in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Taiwan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Shanxi and other places.

[Chemical composition] The fruit contains sterols, saponins, flavonoids, anthocyanins, tannins and polyuronic acid. Koelreuteria saponins A and B were separated from the saponins. The dry seeds contain 9.4% moisture, 17.5% crude protein, 0.045% lecithin phosphate, 7.0% starch, 9.0% ash and 20.9% lipids. The seed kernel contains 38% oil, and sterols and palmitic acid are separated after saponification. The leaves contain methyl gallate, which has inhibitory effects on a variety of bacteria and fungi.
