Leaves are alternate; petiole is 1-5cm long, young fruit is densely pubescent; leaf blade is ovate or elliptical, 5-9cm long, 4-5cm wide, acuminate or acute at apex, broadly cuneate at base, with fine and sharp serrations on margins. Flowers bisexual; umbel or nearly umbel, with 4-10 flowers; pedicels 2-3.5cm long, pubescent; calyx tube with long pubescence on the outside; calyx lobes 5, lanceolate, pubescent on both sides; flowers white or pink, petals 5, obovate-elliptical, about 2.5-3cm long, about 1.5cm wide, with short claws at the base; stamens 20, filaments of uneven length, about one-third of the petals; stylolites 4 (5), with long pubescence at the base, longer than stamens. The pear fruit is oval, 2-2.5cm in diameter, red, with persistent, thick calyx lobes and slender fruit pedicels. The flowering period is April-May, and the fruiting period is August-September.
