[Source] Medicinal material source: The fruiting bodies of the Polyporaceae fungi Ganoderma lucidum and Ganoderma lucidum.

[Original morphology] 1. The fruiting body of the wrinkled black mushroom is annual and has a stalk. The cap is round to nearly round, sometimes irregular, 3-10(-13)cm wide; the cap surface has an inconspicuous cortex, light brown, dark brown to black, covered with micropubescence and with radial wrinkles; the edges are neat or wavy. The tube mouth is white, turns red or purple when injured, and then turns black; the tube mouth is angular, with 4-6 per 1mm; the bacterial tube is single-layered, short and dark in color. The stipe is central, lateral or nearly lateral, often twisted, gray-brown to nearly black, (3.5-8)cm×(0.5-1)cm. The flesh of the mushroom is yellow-white, turning red-purple when injured and then black. The mycelial system is tripartite, the reproductive hyphae are colorless and have lock-like joints. Spores are broadly elliptical to nearly spherical, double-walled, with a smooth and colorless outer wall and a slightly rough inner wall with small warts, light brown, (8-10)μm×(6-7)μm.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: 1. Growing on the ground or buried in the forest.

[Properties] Identification of properties (1) The cap of the wrinkled black mushroom is kidney-shaped or quasi-circular, with a diameter of 3-10 cm and a thickness of 5-7 mm. The surface is gray-brown or brown, with fine hairs, deep radial wrinkles and inconspicuous rings, sharp and wavy edges, and multiple lobes. The tube mouth surface is white or dark brown. A single layer of bacterial tubes can be seen in the longitudinal section. The stipe is eccentric, cylindrical, curved, 4-12cm long, 3-10mm in diameter, with a pseudo-root at the bottom, the same color as the cap, and fine hairs. Corky. Slight odor, light taste.

【Functions and indications】Nourishes the kidneys; promotes diuresis; eliminates accumulation of food. Mainly used for acute nephritis; chronic nephritis; indigestion
