【Original form】 Tree, about 10m high. The bark is gray or gray-brown and smooth; the branches are dark gray-brown and hairless; the twigs are yellow-brown or brown; the buds are petiolate, with 2 bud scales, which are smooth. The petiole is slender, 2-3cm long; the leaf blade is obovate or elliptic to elliptic-broadly ovate, sometimes the leaves on long branches are lanceolate or elliptic, 6-16cm long, 2.5-7cm wide, with short caudate or acuminate tip, base nearly rounded or nearly cordate, margin with irregular fine teeth, glabrous above, with glandular dots below, and clusters of beards in the vein axils; 6-13 pairs of lateral veins. The male inflorescences open before the leaves in spring and grow in clusters. The infructescence is elliptical, arranged in racemes of 2-4; the infructescence peduncle is 1-2cm long, the fruit bract is 5-7mm long, woody, cuneate at the base, with 5 shallow lobes at the tip. The nutlets are broadly ovate, about 3mm long; the fruit wings are thick and papery, as wide as 1/4 of the fruit, and the seeds are oblate.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in valleys, ditches, river banks and near villages at an altitude of 200-1000m.
