Effects and functions of Huoxiang Chinese medicine

Everyone is familiar with Huoxiang Zhengqi Water. In the hot summer, when heatstroke occurs, drinking some Huoxiang Zhengqi Water has a very good effect on relieving heatstroke. This medicine is made from the Chinese medicinal herb Huoxiang. Patchouli is a relatively common plant and also a very good Chinese medicinal material. Patchouli has many uses and is very effective in relieving indigestion, colds, heatstroke and vomiting.

Good for digestion

The volatile oil contained in Huoxiang can promote the secretion of gastric juice, enhance digestive function, have an antispasmodic and analgesic effect on the gastrointestinal tract, and has a bidirectional regulating effect on small intestinal peristalsis. It can eliminate filth and dampness, harmonize the stomach, stimulate the appetite, stop vomiting, and stop diarrhea.

Sweat, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory

Huoxiang can dilate capillaries and have a slight diaphoretic effect, which can eliminate external evils and treat exogenous symptoms. Alocasia officinalis has inhibitory effects on common pathogenic fungi and Staphylococcus aureus, group A hemolytic Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and Shigella dysenteriae.

Improve the body's immunity

The methyl chavicol and anethole contained in hognose have the effects of increasing the number of white blood cells, antibacterial and antispasmodic. It can increase white blood cell count and improve immunity in patients with cancer and those who have long-term exposure to radiation or have low white blood cell count due to drugs.

Dispel cold

Patchouli is pungent and slightly warm in nature, and can dispel wind and cold. It is best at treating chills, fever, headache, abdominal distension, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea caused by exogenous wind and cold in summer, and internal injuries caused by cold and dampness.

Remove dampness

Although heat belongs to the evil of fire, during the hot summer season, the heat from the sky is pressing down and the moisture from the ground is steaming up, so the heat is severe and the humidity is also heavy. Therefore, summer heat disease is often accompanied by dampness, and the combination of summer heat and dampness causes summer dampness and damp-heat. Heat and dampness are inextricably linked to each other. During treatment, "clearing away heat alone will not reduce the heat, and removing dampness alone will make the heat worse." Therefore, in the treatment of heat and dampness, clearing away heat and removing dampness are often done at the same time. Patchouli is pungent and slightly warm, and is good at aromatically transforming dampness, and treating summer-heat and damp-heat.

Inhibit fungal infection

Patchouli can also be used for infections caused by fungi, and can be used to treat infections caused by fungi such as tinea manuum, tinea pedis, and tinea cruris. Because Patchouli has a certain inhibitory effect on fungi, we can apply Patchouli Zhengqi Liquid containing Patchouli to the areas of fungal infection, which has a better therapeutic effect.
