Small shrub, about 50cm tall. With creeping stems; stems slender, with fine longitudinal striations, densely covered with rusty fine hairs when young. Leaves are alternate, petioles are 5-8mm long and grooved; leaf blades are thick, firm to leathery, ovate to oblong-lanceolate, acuminate at apex, obtuse to rounded at base, 3.5-6cm long, 1.5-2.3cm wide, with shallow crenates on margins, marginal glandular dots between teeth, sparsely pubescent or with small scales on both sides, especially on the midrib on the north dorsal surface. Inflorescence subumbel or corymb, rarely compound umbel, lateral, rarely axillary, densely pubescent; peduncle up to 6 cm long, often with 1-2 reduced leaves; pedicel 6-10 mm, usually reddish; calyx fused only at base, finely pubescent only at fusion, 1-1.5 mm long, sepals triangular-ovate, with glandular dots; petals white, rarely pink, ovate or ovate-lanceolate, about 4 mm long, with papillate protrusions below middle inside, with sparse glandular dots; stamens slightly shorter than petals, anther lanceolate, with sparse glandular dots on back; pistil as long as petals. The fruit is spherical, about 5mm in diameter, red and slightly fleshy. The flowering period is June-July, and the fruiting period is October-December.
