The flowers are purplish brown, usually 2-4 in axillary; the pedicels are 3-6mm long, with the joint located near the middle; the perianth of male flowers is 7mm long, with the filaments attached to the perianth segments below the middle; the female flowers are smaller, with a perianth of about 3mm long. The berries are red when ripe, 6-7mm in diameter, and usually contain 4-5 seeds. The flowering period is May-June, and the fruiting period is August.
