【Original form】 Shrub, up to 2m tall. Buds densely covered with gray short stellate hairs, growing tips and leaves are glabrous; branchlets gray with scattered lenticels. Leaves are alternate or nearly opposite on short branches, leathery; petiole 0.5-2cm long; leaf shape varies, from lanceolate to nearly round, usually elliptical, 5-13cm long, 2.5-8.5m wide, apex acute or obtuse, base cuneate or obtuse, slightly decurrent, lateral veins 2-4 pairs, both sides are obvious.
