[Source] Medicinal material source: the flowers and leaves of Begonia semperflorens, a plant of the Begoniaceae family.

[Original form] Erect fleshy herb, 15-45cm high. The roots are fibrous. The whole plant is glabrous, with many branches at the base, and is green or light red. Simple leaves are alternate; petioles are attached to the base of the leaves; leaves are slightly fleshy, ovate or broadly ovate, 5-8cm long, 3.5-7.5cm wide, with obtuse apex, slightly cordate and slightly oblique base, serrated and eyelashed edges, shiny on both sides, green; main veins are usually slightly reddish. The flowers are light pink or whitish, several of them are clustered on the axillary peduncle. The flowers are unisexual and monoecious. The male flowers are larger, about 1-2 cm in diameter, with 4 tepals and 2 smaller inner tepals; the female flowers are slightly smaller, with 5 tepals. The capsule is green with three red wings, one of which is slightly larger. Flowering season all year round.
