【Original form】 Deciduous woody vine. The twigs are purple-red, and the old branches are dark brown. Leaves are alternate; petiole is 1-2cm long; leaves are papery; leaf blade is oblong-elliptic to obovate-elliptic, 5-11cm long, 2.5-5cm wide, with short acuminate tip, cuneate base, sparsely serrated edges, green above, light green or covered with white powder below. Flowers are unisexual and dioecious; flowers are pink; perianth has 6-7 petals, arranged in 2-3 whorls; stamens are 18-25, separated at the top and fused at the base; pistil group is nearly spherical, with about 50 carpels in 4-5 rows, and ovary 2mm long. The aggregate fruit is 4.5-7cm long; the small berries are spherical and red when ripe. There are 2 seeds, which are flat and kidney-shaped, light brown and smooth. The flowering period is from April to June, and the fruiting period is from July to September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in dense forests in mountains at an altitude of 1200-2700m.
