[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Selaginella loosescens of the Selaginellaceae family.

[Original morphology] The stem is erect, about 13cm high. The branches are narrowly elliptical and sympodial. Leaves are dimorphic, with 2 rows on both sides and in the middle of the branch; lateral leaves are obliquely ovate, 2-3mm long, 1.5-2mm wide, unequal on both sides, with obtuse tips, oblique cordate base, and nearly entire margins; middle leaves are ovate-lanceolate, about 2mm long, about 1mm wide, with long awns at the tip, rounded base, and entire margins. There are 1 or 2 sporangia growing at the top of the branchlets, 3-7mm long; the sporangium leaves are of the same type, lanceolate, with keel-like protrusions, sharp tips, and slightly toothed. Sporangium reniform; spores heteromorphic.
