Leaves are alternate; leaves at the lower part of the stem are narrowly obovate, obovate or elliptic, 4.5-9cm long, 2-3.2cm wide, with base gradually narrowing and extending down the stem into broad wings, with sparse fine teeth on the margin, obtuse, rounded or rarely nearly short-pointed apex, sparsely pubescent on both sides or sometimes bald, midrib slightly raised below, lateral veins about 5 pairs, not obvious; leaves in the middle are oblanceolate or narrowly oblanceolate, rarely elliptic, 2-4cm long, 0.6-2cm wide; leaves gradually become smaller upwards. Inflorescence capitula, numerous, often densely packed into elliptic to spherical, 7-15mm long, 7-12mm in diameter, light white or green, solitary at branch top; involucral bracts in 2 layers, about 6-9 in number, outer layer oblong-lanceolate, 3-3.5mm long, pointed at apex, often with glandular dots on back, inner layer narrower, about 3.5mm long, rounded or truncated at apex, usually serrated, glabrous; female flowers 20-22, about 3mm long, tubular; bisexual flowers 1 or 2-3, 3-3.5mm long, corolla bell-shaped, with glandular dots, eaves 5-lobed. Achenes are cylindrical, 4-sided, 0.8-1mm long, and pubescent. The flowering period is from December to May of the following year.
