[Source] Medicinal material source: bark and leaves of the tree of the family Achyranthes bidentata.

[Original form] The tree of the fragrant bark tree, up to 10m high. The bark is gray; the twigs, petioles, leaf backs and inflorescences are covered with brown flat soft hairs. Simple leaves are alternate; petiole is 1.5-3.5cm long; leaf blade is nearly leathery, oblanceolate or lanceolate, 9-25cm long, 2.5-8cm wide, acuminate at apex, narrowly cuneate at base, decurrent, leaf surface is glossy, entire or with several serrations near the top; lateral veins are 11-20 on each side. Flowers are bisexual, with broad panicles, terminal or nearly terminal, three to five times branched, and the axis thin and rounded; sepals 4 (5), broadly ovate, sparsely pubescent on the back, with ciliate margins; the outer 3 petals are nearly round, the inner 2 petals are bifid to the middle; stamens are about 0.7mm long; pistil is about 0.8mm long, and the ovary is equal in length to the style. The fruit is nearly spherical or oblate, with a core with obvious reticulation, a raised midrib, a slightly flat abdomen, and a small, non-open abdominal hole. The flowering period is from May to July, and the fruiting period is from August to October.
