[Original form] Viburnum is a thin-leaved shrub, up to 4m tall. Young branches, petioles and inflorescences are covered with clusters of short soft hairs, while old branches are reddish brown and glabrous. Leaves opposite; petiole 5-10mm long; leaves papery to thick papery; leaf blade ovate, elliptic to oblong-rhombic, 3-6.5cm long, 1.5-2.5cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate or rounded, margin sparsely sharp-toothed, green above, glabrous except for the midrib densely covered with short soft hairs, light green below, except for the midrib and lateral veins covered with the same hairs, with clusters of hairs in the vein axils, 2-4 pairs of lateral veins, arcuate and reaching the tip of the teeth, one pair at the base is 3-veined away from the base, the veins are sunken above and protruding below. Inflorescence cymose-compound umbel, terminal, 5-8cm in diameter; with peduncle, 4-8 first-level radiating branches, flowers borne on second-3rd-level radiating branches; calyx tube about 1mm long; calyx rim with 5 fine teeth; corolla white, radial, 1.5mm long, corolla tube about 0.5mm long, lobes round-ovate, longer than corolla tube; 5 stamens, slightly beyond the corolla. The drupe is red, ovate-elliptical, about 7mm long; the core is flat, with 2 shallow grooves on the back and 3 shallow grooves on the abdomen. The flowering period is July and the fruiting period is September.
