[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of the plant Oryza sativa of the family Cyperus rotundus.

[Original form] Rice stalk vegetable is an annual or biennial thin herb, 5-30cm tall. Basal leaves are clustered and petiolate; leaf blades are 4-18cm long, 1-3cm wide, with obtuse or short pointed tips, larger apical lobes, oval, pinnately divided at the edges, 3-4 pairs of lobes on both sides, short elliptical; stem leaves are 1-2, with short petioles or nearly sessile. The head inflorescence is a sparse, corymbose panicle with thin stalks, and the fruits often droop; the involucre is cylindrical and bell-shaped, with outer bracts ovate-lanceolate, about 1mm long, and inner bracts 5-6, oblong-lanceolate, about 4.5mm long; the receptacle is flat and glabrous; all are ligulate flowers, yellow. Achenes are elliptic-lanceolate, flat, 4-5mm long, equal to or longer than the involucral bracts, yellow-brown when mature, glabrous, with 5-7 ribs on the dorsal and ventral sides, 1 hooked thorn on each side of the tip, and no pappus. The flowering and fruiting period is April-May.
