[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Baoxing ear fern, a plant of the Dryopteris family.

【Original form】The plant is up to 30cm tall. The rhizome is short and erect. Leaves are clustered; petioles are 6-10cm long, straw-colored, with brown-brown, oval scales at the base; leaf blades are linear, 15-20cm long, 2-2.5cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, slightly shortened at the base, and bipinnate; pinnae are 25-30 pairs, slightly scattered, nearly sessile, narrowly ovate-rhombus, deeply pinnate, and more or less ear-shaped at the base; the underside of the leaves is gray-green, and the rachis and back of the leaves are sparsely covered with scales. The sori are round, brown, dorsally located between the veinlets, with 2-4 in each lobe; the sori lid is sunken in the middle.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown on wet rocks under high mountain forests.
