[Source] It is the root of the Rosaceae plant. Available all year round.

【Original form】Climbing shrub. The branches and petioles are light brown tomentose and have scattered hooked prickles. The simple leaves are alternate, petiolate, broadly ovate, 5-lobed, 6.5-7.5 cm long, 7-9 cm wide, obtuse at the apex, cordate at the base, with soft hairs, more soft hairs on the veins above, light brown below, densely covered with rusty hairs, darker hairs on the veins, longer hairs, and small rounded and blunt serrations on the edges of the lobes. The flowers are white with very short stalks, clustered in leaf axils or in racemes at branch tops; sepals are densely covered with light brown long hairs.

[Habitat distribution] Growing on mountain roadsides or in sparse woods. Distributed in Guizhou and other places.

【Nature and flavor】 Sweet, slightly astringent, cool.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and dampness, cools blood and relieves pain. Treats vomiting blood, blood spots all over the body, diarrhea, and pain caused by strain.

[Additional prescription] ① Treat vomiting blood: soak and prick one or two liang of red iron. Take with simmered water.
