Pig bile powder is a medicinal material. If we have some understanding of its medicinal value, we can correctly use pig bile powder to treat some related diseases in life. Let’s take a look at it below. [Source] This product is from the pig Sus scrofa dommestica Brisson of the Suidae family. Dried bile . 【Properties】 This product is yellow or grayish yellow powder. It has a slightly fishy smell, bitter taste, and absorbs moisture easily. [Identification] According to the thin layer chromatography method (Appendix Ⅵ B), 2 μl of the test solution and hyodeoxycholic acid reference solution under [Content Determination] are respectively spotted on the same silica gel G thin layer plate, and the plate is developed with a newly prepared upper layer solution of isooctane-ethyl ether-glacial acetic acid-n-butanol-water (10:5:5:3:1) as the developing agent. The plate is taken out, dried, sprayed with 10% ethanolic sulfuric acid solution, and heated at 105°C until the spots are clearly colored. The plate is then examined under daylight and ultraviolet light (365nm). In the test sample chromatogram, spots of the same color or fluorescent spots appear at the corresponding positions in the reference sample chromatogram. [Content Determination] Take about 0.1 g of fine powder of this product, weigh accurately, add 5 ml of 10% sodium hydroxide solution, heat at 120℃ for 4 hours, cool, add hydrochloric acid dropwise to adjust the pH value to 2-3, and shake well. Extract with ethyl acetate 4 times, 10 ml each time, combine the extracts, evaporate to dryness, add ethanol to dissolve the residue, transfer to a 10 ml volumetric flask, add ethanol to the scale, shake well, and use as the test solution. Separately, accurately weigh an appropriate amount of hyodeoxycholic acid reference substance that has been dried in a phosphorus pentoxide desiccator under reduced pressure for 24 hours, and add ethanol to prepare a solution containing 1 mg per 1 ml as the reference substance solution. According to the thin layer chromatography method (Appendix Ⅵ B) test, 1μl of the test solution, 1μl and 3μl of the reference solution were accurately pipetted and crossed onto the same silica gel G thin layer plate, and the upper layer solution of newly prepared isooctane-ethyl ether-glacial acetic acid-n-butanol-water (10:5:5:3:1) was used as the developing agent. The plate was developed, and the plate was taken out and air-dried. It was sprayed with 10% ethanolic sulfuric acid solution and heated at 105°C until the spots were clearly colored. The plate was taken out and covered with a glass plate of the same size on the thin layer plate, fixed with tape around it, and scanned according to the thin layer chromatography method (Appendix Ⅵ B, thin layer scanning method), wavelength: λs=375nm, λR=650nm, the integrated absorbance value of the test sample and the integrated absorbance value of the reference were measured, and the result was calculated. [Preparation] Take pig bile, filter, dry and crush it. 【Nature and flavor】 Bitter, cold. [entry into meridians] Enter the liver, gallbladder, lung and large intestine meridians. 【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat, moistens dryness, detoxifies, relieves cough and relieves asthma. It is used for fever, dryness and thirst, red eyes, throat congestion, jaundice, whooping cough, asthma, diarrhea, dysentery, constipation, carbuncles and swellings. [Usage and Dosage] 0.3-0.6g, taken orally with water or made into pills or powder. For external use, grind an appropriate amount into powder or mix with water and apply to the affected area. 【Storage】Sealed, kept in a cool and dry place away from light. [Remarks] (1) This product can be used alone to treat liver fire inflammation, red and swollen eyes, and whooping cough in children. It can also be used in combination with Hedyotis diffusa and Pinellia ternata to treat chronic bronchitis in the elderly. In addition, it is reported to have a certain effect on jaundice infectious hepatitis. 【Excerpt】 Chinese Pharmacopoeia The medicinal value of pig bile powder introduced in the article is of great help to our lives. In fact, many physical illnesses can be treated with some Chinese medicinal materials such as pig bile powder. The profound Chinese medicine culture should continue to be passed on. |
