[Other name] Kawaguchi buddha lotus

[Source] Medicinal material source: The rhizome of the estuarine lotus of the Nelumbo family.

[Original form] Estuarine Alocasia, a large perennial fern. With thick rhizomes. With thick petioles as big as fingers; leaves are bipinnate, thick and herbaceous, dark green above and green below, pinnae are oblong-oblanceolate, about 60cm long, only 6cm wide at the base, 20cm wide at the top, petiole is 6cm long and brown; there are about 11 pairs of pinnae, nearly opposite at the base, 6-8cm long, about 2cm wide, nearly alternate at the top, up to 13cm long, oblanceolate-oblong, gradually pointed and nearly caudate at the apex, with sharp serrations on the edges, and nearly circular at the base; leaf veins are open, mostly forked, and there are no retrograde false veins. The sporangium is linear, closely connected, about 1.8 mm long, with 20-28 sporangia, attached about 1.4 mm from the leaf margin, and sterile at the upper part or tip of the pinna.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown on the edge of Linxia ditch at an altitude of about 300m.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and detoxifies; reduces swelling and resolves stagnation. Mainly used for mumps, scrofula, carbuncle, fracture, and snake bite

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoction, 15g. For external use: take appropriate amount and mash fresh product for application.
