Everyone is familiar with Aijiaonan, of course some people are relatively unfamiliar with it. In fact, Aijiaonan is a relatively common Chinese medicinal material. So what exactly is the role of the short-legged Nan?

[Alias] Dwarf-leafed nan, dwarf nan, small white flower grass, dwarf nan.

[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole plant of Rehmannia glutinosa, a plant of the Meliaceae family .

[Original form] Single-leafed Rehmannia glutinosa is a small shrub, 5-30cm tall. Unbranched, the whole plant is slightly pubescent. Simple leaves are alternate, with petioles 1-3cm long; leaf blades are oblong, 3-8.5cm long, 1.3-2.5cm wide, with obtuse or short acuminate tips, broad cuneate or rounded bases, and margins entire or with blunt teeth; lateral veins are obliquely raised. Flowers are bisexual, cymes are axillary, with 1-3 flowers; flowers are white, up to 2 cm long; sepals are 5-parted, lanceolate; corolla tube is almost equal to petals, pubescent, petals are 5, oblanceolate-elliptic; filaments are united into a tube, apex is 10-lobed, lobes are linear to lanceolate, anthers are 10; disk is tubular; ovary is ovate, hairy; style is up to 2 cm long. Capsule spherical, pubescent. The seeds are hemispherical on the back and concave on the surface. Flowering period is September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in wet places or bushes beside rocks on mountain roads at an altitude of 250-600m.

【Nature and flavor】 slightly bitter; astringent; cool

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and detoxifies; promotes blood circulation and relieves pain. Mainly used for icteric hepatitis; carbuncle; traumatic injury; stomachache

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 9-15g. For external use: take appropriate amount and mash fresh product for application.
