【Nature and flavor】 Bitter, cool.

[Functions and indications] Root: clears away heat and detoxifies, disperses blood stasis and relieves pain, stops bleeding and promotes tissue regeneration, removes phlegm and relieves cough. Used for influenza, upper respiratory tract infection, sore throat, pneumonia, cough, orchitis, mumps, mastitis; used externally to treat bruises, boils, and fractures (or soak the root bark in wine for 1 to 2 days, dry it, grind it into powder and apply it to stop bleeding and relieve pain).

[Usage and Dosage] 0.5-1 liang of root; for external use, take appropriate amount of root bark and leaves, mash them and apply to the affected area. Inflorescence: 15 to 20.
