[Source] It is the stem bark or root of Euonymus weepingii of the Celastraceae family. Available all year round.

[Original form] Shrub, 2 to 4 meters high. Winter buds are 5 to 7 mm long and conical in shape. Leaves are opposite, ovate-oblong, 4-9 cm long, 2.5-5 cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, broadly rounded or truncated rounded at the base, with densely serrated edges; petioles are 4-10 mm long. The flowers are bisexual, with sparse and wide cymes and many flowers; the pedicels and branches are slender; the flowers are light green, 8 to 9 mm in diameter, and 5-merous; the stamens have no filaments, the anthers are 1-chambered, flat and wide inverted trapezoidal; the disk is round. The capsule is nearly spherical, 1-1.5 cm in diameter, with (4-)5 longitudinal ridges, drooping, dark red when ripe; the seed coat is red. Flowering period is from May to July. Fruiting period is from July to September.

[Habitat distribution] Growing in mixed woods on hillsides. Distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Shandong, Jiangxi, Hunan, Sichuan, Liaoning and other places.
