[Original form] A small shrub with slender-stalked nymphs, 1-2m tall. The stem bark is rough, the twigs are thin, scattered, reddish brown and hairless. Leaves are opposite; petiole is 1-2mm long; leaf blade is membranous to papery, ovate or ovate-elliptic to ovate-lanceolate, 2.5-6.5cm long, 0.8-2.5cm wide, apex is long acuminate, base is cuneate or nearly rounded, dark green and glabrous above, light green and covered with white powder below; veins are raised below. The flowers are yellow-green, 4-8 flowers forming a terminal nearly head-shaped raceme, the peduncle is extremely thin, drooping, and glabrous; the perianth is tubular, glabrous, with 4 lobes; the stamens are 8, in 2 whorls; the disk is deeply divided into 4 square scales; the ovary is obovate and glabrous. The fruit is oval and dark red when ripe.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: grows in sparse woods or bushes.

【Functions and indications】 Softening and dispersing lumps; promoting blood circulation; relieving pain. Mainly used for the initial stage of scrofula and traumatic injury
