Traditional Chinese medicine is a Chinese tradition. For many Chinese people, seeing a Chinese doctor and taking Chinese medicine when they are sick is their tradition and habit. Therefore, Chinese medicine is liked by many people. Dryopteris is a common Chinese medicinal material. Let's learn about it together. [Alias] Golden Lotus (Guangxi Chinese Herbal Medicine). [Source] It is the whole herb of Nasturtium, a plant of the Nasturtium family. The whole herb is harvested in autumn and winter. [Original morphology] Annual or perennial climbing fleshy herb, the whole plant is smooth and hairless. Roots sometimes tuberous. The leaves are alternate, shield-shaped and nearly round, about 5 to 10 cm wide, with 9 main veins that radiate in all directions from the petiole attachment, with wavy obtuse edges, and are usually hairy or have nipples on the underside; the petiole is 10 to 20 cm long and attached near the center of the leaf blade. Flowers solitary - born in leaf axils, with long petioles; mostly yellow or orange-red, 2.5-5 cm wide; 5 sepals, fused at the base, one of which extends to form a long spur; 5 petals, unequal in size, the upper 2 petals are often larger, the lower 3 petals are smaller, the base is narrowed into claws, and the edges near the claws have hairy cracks: 8 stamens, filaments are separate and of unequal length; ovary 3-chambered, style 1, stigma 3-lobed, linear. When ripe, the fruit splits into three small cones. Flowering period: spring and summer. [Habitat distribution] Cultivated in various parts of my country. [Chemical composition] The seeds contain glucose tropaeolum, α-phenylcinnamon nitrile, 970 mg% of the antibacterial ingredient benzyl isothiocyanate, 7.2% or 15% of fatty oil, and erucic acid accounts for more than half of the saponified part of the oil. [Pharmacological action] The volatile component contained in the leaves or other parts is Tromalyt (German preparation name "Tromalyt"). The effective concentration in vitro for Gram-negative or Gram-positive bacteria is 1:1000000~3000000. It has inhibitory effects on Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Salmonella paratyphi, Shigella dysenteriae, Bacillus anthracis, Bacillus subtilis, acid-fast bacilli and certain fungi. It also has a good inhibitory effect on most spore-forming bacteria and microorganisms in eye infections. It can also increase the antibacterial efficacy of chloramphenicol, with young plants having better efficacy, followed by stems, and roots being ineffective. The efficacy of the part obtained by steam distillation is not good enough. The active ingredient is benzyl isothiocyanate (phenyl mustard oil), which is lipophilic and poorly soluble in water (can be used as an emulsion). Chemical and biological tests (oxygen consumption during the growth of Escherichia coli, and its effect on lowering body temperature in guinea pigs) proved that Tromalyt is benzyl isothiocyanate. It is easily absorbed through the stomach and duodenum, and the main route of excretion is the kidney. It is also excreted through the respiratory tract and oral mucosa (excreted 1 to 3 hours after oral administration). The highest concentration in the urine of adults is reached 4 to 6 hours after taking it. Long-term administration (3.5 months) to guinea pigs did not cause irritation to the excretory organs, and histological examination of the internal organs showed no obvious lesions. Except for an increase in the number of large lymphocytes, the rest of the blood test was normal. The guinea pigs' eosinophil count did not increase and they did not have asthma, so no allergic reaction occurred. However, ulcers appeared on the skin of the neck and back 2 to 3 weeks after taking the drug. There was no discharge in the feces, so it did not cause diarrhea and did not disturb the intestinal flora. Lotus also has a non-specific stimulating effect, which can increase the activity of the reticuloendothelial system, thereby enhancing the body's defense capabilities and healing process. It can be used clinically for common infections such as upper respiratory tract infections, stomatitis and urinary tract infections. Side effects may include frequent urination, stomach upset, and vomiting in infants. There were children who developed rashes 6 days after taking the medicine. Topical application caused redness. It is not suitable for bacteremia, biliary tract or intestinal infections. The acute toxicity of Tromalyt is as follows: the median lethal dose for mice, guinea pigs, and rats by intraperitoneal injection is 76-107, 68, and 72 mg/kg, respectively; and the oral administration is 134, 81, and 128 mg/kg, respectively. [Properties and flavors] "Guangxi Chinese Herbal Medicine": "spicy, cool, non-toxic." 【Functions and indications】 ① "Guangxi Medicinal Plant List": "Treats sores and poisons." 【Usage and Dosage】 For external use: mash and apply. [Additional prescription] ① Treat red, swollen and painful eyes: appropriate amounts of golden lotus and wild chrysanthemum. Mash it and apply to eye sockets.
