[Source] The whole insect of the Morphopodidae family. Caught in autumn.

[Original form] The body is obese, dark brown, about 3 cm long, and the wingspan is about 8 cm. The head is small, with a pair of compound eyes on both sides; the muzzle is well developed, and the lower lip has long whiskers. Antennae 1 pair, pinnate. The thoracic segments are fused, with a red part. There are two pairs of wings, which are membranous and covered with scales; they are dark brown, with yellow-white reticular patterns on the forewings and several black patterns on the hindwings. There are 3 pairs of legs and 5 tarsal segments. The abdomen is enlarged and orange-yellow in color. The larvae are oblong, black, with gray-yellow or reddish-brown hairs. Appears between August and September. It feeds on the leaves of chrysanthemum, mulberry, hemp, ramie, etc.

【Functions and indications】Treats leaky tubes.

【Usage and Dosage】 For external use: grind into powder and sprinkle.

[Additional prescription] To treat hemorrhoids: Put ten people who fainted from lighting and a dung beetle in a jar overnight, and add one qian of musk. Grind it into powder after drying in the shade, blow it into a tube and water will come out by itself. The disease will be healed when the water dries up. (Zhu Mu's Trial Prescription)
