Emei Lobelia is a traditional Chinese medicine. It has high medicinal value and has a good health-care effect on some diseases. In our lives, many medicines use Emei Lobelia as the main ingredient, but there are still many taboos that need to be paid attention to when taking Emei Lobelia.

[Source] It is the rhizome of the Emei Rosette Pteris of the Rosette Pteris family. Dig up in autumn and sun-dried.

[Original form] Perennial herb, 1.5 to 2 meters high. The rhizome is large, fleshy and spherical. The leaves are papery, up to 80 cm long, bipinnate, with 7 to 9 pairs of pinnae, alternate, oblique upward, 30 to 45 cm long, 13 to 20 cm wide in the middle, slightly narrower towards the base, with a petiole 3 cm long, odd-pinnate, and wingless at the top of the feather axis; there are about 20 pairs of pinnae, 5 to 8 cm long at the base, and the upper pinnae are 7 to 11 cm long, 8 to 13 mm wide, linear-lanceolate, gradually pointed, slightly cordate at the base, asymmetrical, with a petiole about 2 mm long, rounded serrations on the edges, and sharp serrations at the tip. The leaf veins are open, single or dichotomously branched and obvious. There are sparsely scaly leaves below the midrib, which are brown-green above and yellow-green below; the leaves have long petioles, as thick as a middle finger. The sporangium is oblong, consisting of 11 to 15 sporangia, close to each other, and grown near the edge of the back of the leaf.

[Habitat distribution] It grows in valleys under forests and in the shade under shrubs. Distributed in Sichuan.

【Nature and flavor】 Bitter, light, and cool.

【Functions and indications】 Eliminate rheumatism and promote urination. Treat rheumatic bone pain, hot cough due to lung disease, mumps, dysuria, bloody diarrhea, carbuncle and heat toxin.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 1 to 2 liang; or soak in wine. For external use: mash and apply.
