[Source] Medicinal material source: It is the root of olive Canarium album (Lour.) Raeusch., a plant of the Oleaceae family.

[Original form] Olive evergreen tree, 10-20m high. A sticky aromatic resin. The bark is light gray and smooth; young branches, petioles and leaf whorls are covered with very short soft hairs and have lenticels. Odd-pinnate compound leaves are alternate, 15-30cm long; there are 11-15 leaflets, oblong-lanceolate, 6-15cm long, 2.5-5cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, oblique at the base, entire, bald, with obvious reticulate veins on both sides, small dimples on the reticulate veins below, and slightly rough. The panicles are terminal or axillary, as long as or slightly shorter than the leaves; the calyx is cup-shaped, 3-lobed, rarely 5-lobed; the petals are 3-5, white, fragrant, and about twice as long as the calyx; there are 6 stamens, inserted on the outside of the annular disk; there is 1 pistil, and the ovary is superior. The drupe is oval, about 3 cm long, yellow-green at first, then turns yellow-white, with sharp points at both ends. The flowering period is from May to July, and the fruiting period is from August to October.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in mixed woods at low altitudes, with cultivation.

【Functions and indications】Relieve rheumatism; relax muscles and tendons; relieve sore throat. Mainly used for rheumatic pain; numbness of hands and feet; athlete's foot; sore throat

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoction, 15-30g. For external use: take appropriate amount and gargle with decoction.
