[Original form] It is an annual herb. The stem is erect or inclined to the ground, and the young branches and inflorescence axis are quadrangular and glabrous. Leaves are opposite; petiole is 3-10mm long; leaf blade is usually ovate, 1.5-5cm long, 1-2.5cm wide, acuminate or short acuminate at apex, slightly decurrent at base, glabrous on both sides; lateral veins are about 5 on each side. The racemes are terminal and axillary, with the axis of the inflorescence often wavy and usually unbranched; the pedicels are solitary or paraphyly, with one lanceolate-linear bract and two very small bracteoles at the base; the calyx is glabrous, with linear lobes; the corolla is white, about 1 cm long, with an enlarged, inward-curved crown tube, a two-lipped rim, and linear lobes; the flower lobes are slightly smaller; the stamens are included, and the stamens are of equal size. The capsule is linear-oblong, flattened on both sides, and about 2 cm long. The flowering period is late autumn and early winter.
