[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Lygodium hainanensis of the Lygodium family.

[Original form] Perennial climbing vine, plant length 5-6m. Leaves are dimorphic, thick papery, with numerous pinnae, opposite, about 25 cm apart on the short branches of the rachis, with a tuft of reddish-brown short soft hairs on the top of the short branches; nutrient pinnae grow at the lower part of the rachis, petiole 4-4.5 cm long, with narrow margins at the tip of the petiole, pinnae deeply palmately lobed, with 6 lobes, lanceolate, 17-22 cm long, 1.8-2.5 cm wide, base truncated or broadly cuneate, entire, with cartilaginous narrow margins, often curled downwards after drying. Spore pinnae are born on the upper part of the leaf axis, deeply divided into two palm-shaped parts close to the base, the lobes are the same shape as the nutrient lobes, 20-30cm long and 2-2.5cm wide; the leaf veins are separated, and the two-pronged branches reach the leaf margin. Sporangium spikes are brown or green-brown, linear, 2-5 mm long, closely arranged, with 5-6 pairs of sporangia; spores are light yellow and four-sided.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in forests or streamside thickets at an altitude of 1200-1700m.
