[Source] Medicinal material source: the leaves or fruits of the Myrtaceae plant red fruit.

[Original form] Shrub or small tree, up to 5m high, completely hairless. Simple leaves are opposite; petioles are extremely short, about 1.5mm long; leaf blades are ovate to ovate-lanceolate, 3.2-4.2cm long, 2.3-3cm wide, acuminate or mucronate at apex, blunt-headed, rounded or slightly cordate at base, shiny green above, lighter in color below, glabrous on both sides, with countless transparent glandular dots, and about 5 lateral veins on each side, merging into marginal veins about 2mm from the edge. The flowers are white, slightly fragrant, solitary or clustered in leaf axils, shorter than leaves; sepals are 4, oblong, and reflexed. The berries are spherical, 1-2 cm in diameter, with 8 edges, and are dark red when ripe. 1-2 seeds. Flowering period: spring.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Cultivated in southern my country and Taiwan.
