The efficacy and function of Du La

The efficacy and function of Du La

There are many kinds of common Chinese herbal medicines in life. Many people don’t know how to choose when using them, such as Du La. Therefore, before choosing, you need to have a certain understanding of its efficacy and dosage. So do you know what the efficacy and effects of Du La are?

[Other names] Huaxuedan, Zicaowu, Qianzhujie, Caowu, Tengwu

[Source] Medicinal material source: The tuberous root of Aconitum rubrum of the Ranunculaceae family.

[Original form] Aconitum carmichaelii, perennial herb. The tuber is inverted cone-shaped, about 5 cm long and 1.8 cm in diameter. Stems twining, branched, sparsely pubescent above with spreading or recurved pubescence. Leaves are alternate; petiole is nearly as long as leaf blade, with a recurved short soft tail nearly as long as leaf blade, covered with recurved short soft hairs, or almost glabrous; leaf blade of leaves in the middle of stem is pentagonal, 7.5-10cm long, 10-15.5cm wide, base cordate, 3-lobed to base or near base, central lobe rhombic, nearly pinnately deeply lobed, lateral lobes obliquely fan-shaped, one lateral lobe does not reach base, two lobes are 3-4 pairs, entire or with 1-3 small lobes, sparsely covered with short soft hairs or glabrous on both sides. The raceme has 3-8 flowers; the inflorescence axis and pedicels are densely covered with light-colored short tables or slightly hard hairs; the bracts are linear; the pedicels are 1.5-4cm long; the bracteoles are born in the middle or lower part of the pedicels, narrowly linear, 3-8mm long, 0.3-0.5mm wide, and densely covered with short soft hairs. Flowers are bisexual and bilaterally symmetrical; sepals 5, petal-shaped, blue-purple, upper sepals high helmet-shaped, 1.7-2.4cm high, lower edge 1.5-1.6cm long, forming a downward-spreading beak with the outer line, lateral sepals 1.2-1.4cm long, densely covered with short soft hairs on the outside; petals 2, lip 4.5-6mm long, slightly concave, spur about 3mm long, curved backwards, glabrous; stamens numerous, filaments entire or with 2 small teeth, glabrous; carpels 5, glabrous or sparsely short-haired on the upper part. The follicles are 1.1-1.8 cm long and glabrous. Seeds are numerous, triangular, 2.5-3mm long, and densely covered with membranous wings. The flowering period is from July to October, and the fruiting period is from August to November.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in mountains at an altitude of 2400-3200.

[Properties] Identification of properties: The root is conical, 5-7cm long and 1-2cm in diameter. The surface is dark brown, extremely wrinkled, and has numerous coarse longitudinal grooves. It is hard and not easy to break. When broken, it is purple-black with a slightly visible annular cambium.

[Chemical composition] The root tuber contains aconosine, scopaline, episcopalisine, episcopalisinine, episcopalitine, episcopalidine, delavaconitine A, yunaconitine, songorine, talatisamine, 14-acetyltalatisamine, talatisamine, 14-acetyltalatisamine, heterophylloidine and deacetylheterophylloidine.

[Pharmacological action] 1. Regarding the effect on the heart, the structure of aconitine is similar to that of aconitine, but its arrhythmogenic effect is 600 times weaker than that of aconitine, and it can significantly antagonize the arrhythmogenic effect of aconitine within a certain dosage range. At high concentrations, aconitine slowed down the heart rate of the isolated atrium of rats and enhanced cardiac contractility. 5×10(-3)mol/L aconitine significantly antagonized the effects of 1.25×10(-4)mol/L aconitine on increasing heart rate and reducing cardiac contractility, which led to arrhythmia caused by intravenous injection of aconitine. Fifteen minutes after intraperitoneal injection of aconitine, 10mg/kg of aconitine was injected intravenously, which had a better anti-aconitine effect and could significantly reduce the incidence of arrhythmia and death caused by aconitine.

【Identification】 Physical and chemical identification Thin layer chromatography: Take 1g of the powder, add 10% ammonia solution 1ml, 10ml of ether, soak in cold for 24h, and filter. Filter and evaporate. The residue was washed with dichloromethane and placed into a 1 ml volumetric flask to make up to volume as the sample solution. Separately, prepare 1 mg/1 ml dichloromethane solution of dianconitine and taraconitine as reference solution. Spot 3 μl of sample and reference solution on a high-efficiency silica gel GF254 thin layer, develop with cyclohexane-ethyl acetate-diethylamine (8:1:1), take out, dry, spray with an equal volume mixture of potassium bismuth iodide and potassium iodide iodine test solution for color development, and the test sample chromatogram should have a spot of the same color as the corresponding position in the reference chromatogram.

【Nature and flavor】 Spicy; hot; toxic

【Functions and indications】Relieve rheumatism; detoxify; sober up. Mainly used for rheumatic bone pain, traumatic injuries;

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 1.5-6g; or made into pills or powder. For external use: take appropriate amount, grind into powder and apply on the affected area; or grind with vinegar or wine and apply.
