[Source] It is the tuber of Corydalisturschaninovii Bess., a plant of the Poppy family.

[Original form] Perennial herb, 8 to 25 cm tall. The stem is slightly thick and grows in the axils of scale leaves. The scale leaves are relatively large and 2 cm long. There are 2 to 3 leaves on the upper part of the stem; the leaves are 6 to 8 cm long, twice-tripleted, and the leaflets are lanceolate or narrowly obovate, with entire margins. The raceme is terminal; there are 4 petals, which are blue-purple, the upper lip has 2 shallow lobes at the top, with short tips, and is rectangular and cylindrical, while the lower lip has 2 lobes; there are 6 stamens; there is 1 pistil, which is linear. The capsule is nearly rosary-shaped and 1.5 cm long. The flowering period is from April to May, and the fruiting period is from June to July.

[Habitat distribution] It grows under sparse woods or in forest edge thickets and slightly wetlands on hillsides. Produced in Northeast China.

[Properties] The tuber is oblate, broadly conical or thinly conical, with a diameter of 0.5 to 2.5 cm. The surface is bright yellow or yellow. There are a few lumpy lateral tubers at the top, and traces of adventitious roots can be seen at the bottom. It is hard, bright yellow in cross section, horny, and has a waxy luster. Tastes bitter.
