[Original form] The large-leaved firewood tree is an upright shrub, 1-2 meters high. Stems and branches usually have longitudinal ridges. Leaves are alternate; petiole is 10-12cm long; leaf blade is broadly ovate, 15-25cm long, 18-26cm wide, blunt at tip with a sharp tip, wavy leaf margin with spiny hairs, glabrous surface, with grayish white branched hairs underneath, leaf base is heart-shaped. The inflorescence is umbellate and more than 30 cm long, with the peduncle opposite the leaves. The calyx is cup-shaped with 5 teeth; the petals are light green, 5 in number, oval or elliptical; there are 5 stamens, with purple anthers; the ovary is hemispherical. The berries are oblate and purple-black when ripe. 3-6 seeds.
