[Source] Medicinal material source: The leaves of Photinia fraseri, a plant of the Rosaceae family.

[Original form] Photinia fraseri is an evergreen tree, 3-5m high, up to 7m. Old branches are gray-black, glabrous, and have brown-black lenticels. Leaves are alternate; petioles are 1-1.5cm long and glabrous; leaf blades are leathery, red when slender and old, elliptical, oblong or oblong-obovate, 5-9cm long, 2-4cm wide, with sparse, shallow, blunt and fine serrations, and glabrous on both sides. Flowers are bisexual; compound cymes are terminal, peduncle and pedicel are glabrous; flower diameter is 7-8mm; calyx tube is cup-shaped, glabrous; sepals are 5, triangular; petals are 5, white, obovate, recurved, with white hairs on the inner side near the base. There are short claws at the base; 20 stamens, styles are free and fused at the lower part. The pear is oval, about 5mm long, red and hairless. The flowering period is April-May, and the fruiting period is September-October.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in mixed woods on hillsides at an altitude of 500-800m.
