[Original form] A vine-like shrub of Celastrus orientalis, hairless. The leaves are papery or hard papery; the leaf blades are ovate-elliptical or broadly cuneate, 6-10cm long, 2.5-6.5cm wide, with crenate-like fine serrations on the edges, the back of the leaves is green without white powder, the veins on the back are often covered with fine soft hairs, and the veinlets between the lateral veins are parallel and often form irregular, slightly raised rectangular shapes. Cymes axillary, with short peduncles or sessile, rarely grouped into terminal racemes 3-6 cm long; pedicels jointed in the middle, 3-4 mm long, sepals ovate to rounded, with linear eyelashes; petals oblong, rounded at the apex, shallowly eroded, 5 mm long, 1-1.5 mm wide; stamens as long as petals, filaments tapered; female sepals pointed, sterile stamens shorter than sepals. The capsule is ovoid, pure yellow, 6-8mm in diameter, and contains 2 seeds in each chamber. Seeds are oval, 4 mm long. The flowering period is from March to June, and the fruit ripening period is from September to October.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in broad-leaved forests, shrubs or tall grass on hillsides at an altitude of 1530-2750m.
