Each group took the medicine once before the experiment. Five mice were placed in each swimming test, and they were weighed before the experiment and loaded with 5% of their actual weight. The results showed that Morinda officinalis could significantly increase the body weight of mice and prolong their continuous swimming time.

2. Impact on immune function

The ACTH bioactivity test was performed on immature mice for 4 days. The results showed that oral administration of 65g/(kg.d) and 80g/(kg.d) of Morinda officinalis warm infusion and 60g/(kg.d) of Morinda officinalis 50% ethanol extract could cause thymus atrophy in mice (P values ​​were P<0.05, p<0.001, and p<0.001, respectively). Intraperitoneal injection of 10g/(kg.d) of Morinda officinalis warm infusion also caused significant thymus atrophy in mice (P<0.001). According to the method reported by Qiao Zhisheng, 21-day-old Kunming mice were selected, both male and female, and blood was separated according to body weight. The positive control group was gavaged with 0.6 ml of 0.2% (g/ml) vitamin B4 solution per mouse every day, and the medication groups were given Morinda officinalis decoction for 10 consecutive days. 24 hours after the last dose, the body weight was weighed, blood was taken from the tip of the tail, the number of white blood cells was counted, and the animals were killed. The thymus was separated and weighed. The results also proved that Morinda officinalis has the function of inhibiting thymus atrophy in mice and increasing the number of white blood cells in their blood.

3. Effects on accessory organs

Oral administration of the crude extract of Morinda officinalis to rats or mice for 14-15 consecutive days showed no anabolic effect (indicated by the increase in body weight, levator ani muscle or glomus cavernosum muscle weight, or mouse kidney weight) and no androgenic effect (indicated by the increase in seminal vesicle weight).

4. Promoting the secretion of corticosterone

ICR male mice weighing about 35g were used to measure the amount of corticosterone in the blood according to the Diamondstone method. The water extract of Morinda officinalis (1g/kg) was orally administered. The results showed that the activity of the glucocorticoid enzyme marker liver AIP was significantly increased, and intraperitoneal injection also showed a higher TAT (tyrosine aminotransferase) activity, indicating that the Morinda officinalis extract has the effect of increasing the level of corticosterone in the blood, and its activity may be due to the stimulation of the pituitary-adrenal cortex system.

5. Antihypertensive effect

The extract of Morinda lucida, a plant of the same genus, has a significant antihypertensive effect on anesthetized cats and also has a antihypertensive effect on non-anesthetized rats, but the effect is short-lived and has some sedative and diuretic effects.

Anti-inflammatory effects

Oral gavage of 50, 60g/kg or intraperitoneal injection of 10g/kg warm infusion had an inhibitory effect on plastic ring granuloma in rats; oral gavage of 25, 50g/Kg warm infusion could not prolong the survival time of adrenalectomized young rats; oral gavage of 350mg/kg warm infusion had no effect on increasing the accumulation of liver glycogen in adrenalectomized starved mice, indicating that Morinda officinalis may have an adrenal cortex hormone-like effect.
