[Source] It is the roots and leaves of the legume plant , the round-leaved leech . Harvested in summer and autumn.

[Original form] Small shrub, about 1 meter high. The stem is ribbed and sparsely covered with spreading short soft hairs. The leaves are alternate, with 3 leaflets; the leaves on both sides are smaller; the top ones are rounded rhombus-shaped, 4-7 cm long, 3.5-6 cm wide, with acute or obtuse apex, broadly cuneate base, entire margin, and scattered soft hairs on both sides; stipules are linear-lanceolate. The terminal inflorescence is paniculate, up to 30 cm long, while the axillary inflorescence is racemose; the flowers are purple-red; the calyx is small, bell-shaped, and shallowly lobed; the pistil is linear and glabrous. Pods usually 2-noded, dorsally curved, covered with hooked hairs, nodes deeply split to ventral suture. Flowering period is from July to September.

[Habitat distribution] Grown under mountain forests or on grass slopes. Distributed in Jiangsu, Shandong, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Taiwan, Guizhou, Gansu, Shaanxi, Yunnan and other places.

【Nature and flavor】 Bitter, warm.

【Functions and indications】Dispel cold and stop bleeding.

[Additional prescription] ① To treat colds: 3 grams each of the roots of small sticky grass, mountain somniferum, and tiger palm grass roots (silver anemone). Take it in decoction.
