[Original form] Spotted Saxifrage is a perennial herb, 22-33cm tall. The rhizome is thick and has many fibrous roots. Stems sparsely glandular pubescent. The basal leaves are several in a rosette shape; the petiole is 3-10cm long, sparsely covered with glandular pubescence; the leaf blade is reniform, 1.6-5.5cm long, 1.9-6.5cm wide, with obtuse or acute apex, or with a short tip, cordate base, covered with glandular pubescence above, glabrous beneath, with serrated edges and glandular eyelashes. The inflorescence is paniculate; many flowers, with pedicels sparsely covered with short soft hairs and glandular hairs, 2-15cm long; bracts are linear-lanceolate or linear-strip, 1-5mm long; calyx is purple, 5-parted, glabrous, and curled when the flowers open, broadly ovate to ovate, about 1.3mm long; petals are 5, white or pink with orange-yellow spots, ovate-oblong, arrow-shaped at the base, with short claws; stamens are 10, slightly shorter than petals, flowers are nearly round, and filaments are rod-shaped; ovary is 2-chambered, composed of 2 carpels, fused at the lower part; styles are separate. The leaves are basal, curled and wrinkled.
