[Other names] Diaolebang, salted fish head, wind chasing stick, big leaf green

[Source] Claoxylon polot (Burm.) Merr. [C. indicum (Reinew. ex Blume) Hassk.], a plant of the Euphorbiaceae family, is used as medicine with its roots and leaves . Harvest in autumn, wash and dry. The leaves can be used fresh.

[Nature and flavor] Spicy, slightly bitter, neutral. poisonous.

【Functions and indications】 Dispel wind and dampness, reduce swelling and relieve pain. Root: Used for rheumatoid arthritis, low back pain, swelling and pain due to falls, and athlete's foot edema. Leaves: Used externally to treat burns.

[Usage and Dosage] 3 to 5 cents of root. Apply an appropriate amount of leaves externally, decoct in water for washing, wet compress, grind into powder and sprinkle on the affected area, or mash the fresh leaves for external application.

【Note】 Pregnant women should not take this medicine.

[Remarks] (1) In Yulin, Guangxi, the root bark of Securidaca inappendiculata Hassk. of the Polygalaceae family is used as medicine.
