[Original form] Annual herb, 20-40cm tall. The whole plant is densely covered with white shiny fine hairs. Root-like. The stem is creeping, curved, and ascending at the top. The internodes of the creeping branches are very long, with roots at the nodes and few branches. Leaves are opposite; nearly sessile or with short petioles; leaf blades vary in size and shape, lanceolate, oblong to ovate, 2-6cm long, 0.7-2.5cm wide, with acute or obtuse apex, broadly cuneate to nearly cordate base, serrated margins, and densely covered with silky white coarse hairs on both sides. The racemes are axillary or terminal, sometimes nearly umbel-shaped, sometimes solitary; the bracts are small and subulate; the pedicels are 2.5 cm long and have white silky hairs; the stamens are 5-lobed, and the lobes are linear-lanceolate; the corolla is purple or yellowish-white, about 1 cm long, the upper lip is erect, 2-lobed, and the lower lip is spreading, 3-lobed; the stamens are 4, fully developed, and the base appendages of the first two filaments are serrated; the stigma is 2-lobed. Capsule oblong, shorter than persistent calyx. Seeds have lattice-like tubercles. The flowering period is from July to October, and the fruiting period is from September to November.
