[Original morphology] White velvet grass, annual herb, with erect stems, 50-100cm high. The stem is slender, much-branched, quadrangular, grooved, and pubescent. Leaves are opposite; petioles are short, leaves on the upper branches are nearly sessile, densely pubescent; leaf blades are ovate, 1.5-4cm long, 1-2.3cm wide, acuminate at the apex, broadly cuneate to cordate at the base, with crenate-serrated edges, papery, and densely pubescent on both sides. The cymes are axillary, spherical, with many flowers densely packed. The bracts are densely covered with long soft hairs. The calyx is tubular, with a truncate calyx opening and 10 teeth. The teeth are long triangular, very short and nearly equal in size. The corolla is white, light yellow to pink, with a two-lipped rim. The upper lip is straight and helmet-shaped, and the lower lip is open, 1.5 times longer than the upper lip, and 3-lobed. The middle lobe is the largest and inverted cordate. There are 4 stamens, the posterior pair is shorter, the filaments are filiform, the anthers are oval and bilocular. The style is slightly equal in length to the stamens, and the tip is unequally fissured. The nutlets are oval-triangular and dark brown. The flowering period is from May to October, and the fruiting period is from June to November.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in wetlands such as sunny thickets, roadsides, grasslands and streams at an altitude of 750-2000m.
