[Original form] Tree, up to 18m high. The bark is grayish white, thick and soft, and peels off in thin layers. Young branches are grayish white. Leaves are alternate; petioles are extremely short; leaf blades are leathery, lanceolate or narrowly oblong, 4-10cm long, 1-2cm wide, pointed at both ends, entire, with many oil glands and a strong aroma; there are 3-7 basal veins. The flowers are white, densely distributed in spikes at the top of the branches, and the inflorescence axis often has short hairs; the calyx tube is ovate, 3mm long, hairy or hairless, with 5 calyx teeth, round, about 1mm long; the petals are 5, ovate, 2-3mm long, 3mm wide; the stamens are numerous, green and white, about 1cm long, often 5-8 pieces in bundles, the anthers are attached to the back, the anther cells are parallel and longitudinally fissured; the ovary is inferior, fused with the calyx tube, with a prominent apex, 3-chambered, the style is linear, slightly longer than the stamens, and the stigma is more or less enlarged. The capsule is nearly spherical, 5-7mm in diameter, and the seeds are nearly triangular. Flowering occurs several times a year.
