[Source] It is the vine of the pale hook grass of the Menispermaceae family. Available all year round.

[Original form] Woody vine with fine stripes, up to 10 to 20 meters long. The leaves are alternate, rhombus-broad ovate to broad ovate, 3.5-6 cm long, 4-6.5 cm wide, with a short tip, a nearly round base, slightly wavy edges, pink-green underneath, with 5 protruding basal veins below; the petiole is 3-7 cm long. The inflorescence is a cymose panicle, growing on old trunks or deciduous branches; the male inflorescence is up to 20 cm long, with 6 sepals, light yellow with black markings, ovate-oblong, 6 petals, broadly obovate, with ears on both sides and folded inward to hold the filaments, and 6 stamens; the female inflorescence is 15 to 20 cm long, with sepals and petals similar to those of male flowers, 6 reduced stamens, 3 carpels, and a semi-ovoid ovary with a stigma extending outward in the shape of a lip. The drupe is obovate-oblong, flat, sunken in the middle, and covered with white powder. Flowering and fruiting period is spring.

[Habitat distribution] Growing in sparse woods or bushes on mountainsides and in ravines. Distributed in southern and southwestern my country.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat, detoxifies, dispels wind and dampness. Treat rheumatic bone pain, urinary tract infection, and snake bites.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 0.5 to 1 liang. For external use: mash and apply.
