[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of the Onagraceae plant Alpine dewdrop grass.

[Original form] Perennial herb, 5-25cm high. It has underground creeping branches; the tree is slender and has soft hairs. Leaves opposite; petiole 1.5-4cm long; leaf blade ovate-triangular or broadly ovate, 1.5-3.5cm long, 1-2.5cm wide, short-acuminate at apex, shallowly cordate or truncate at base, sparsely serrated at margin, sparsely pubescent above, often purple below, inflorescence axis pubescent; bracts small; flowers small; C-type, with a petiole about 2mm long; calyx tube ovate, 2 lobes, purple-red, ovate, 1-1.5mm long; 2 petals, white, obovate, nearly as long as calyx lobes, with apex notched; 2 stamens; ovary inferior, 1-chambered, style about 1mm long, stigma entire or slightly 2-lobed. The fruit is nut-shaped, rod-shaped, about 2mm long and 1mm wide, with dense hooked hairs on the outside; the fruit stalk is slightly longer than the fruit. The flowering period is from July to September, and the fruiting period is from August to September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in shady wetlands or mosses under coniferous forests or mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forests at an altitude of more than 2600m.

【Nature and flavor】 Sweet; bitter; slightly cold

【Functions and indications】Nourishes the heart and calms the mind; helps digestion; relieves cough; detoxifies; relieves itching. It is used to treat palpitations, insomnia, dreaminess, malnutrition, cough, sores, abscesses, condyloma, and itchy ringworms.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 6-15g; or grind into powder. For external use: take appropriate amount, mash and apply or decoct in water for washing.
