[Source] The whole plant of Daphne koreana of the Thymelaeaceae family. Harvest in late autumn. Dry in the sun.

[Original form] Evergreen shrub, 1 to 2 meters high. The branches are yellow-gray, the young branches are glabrous or almost glabrous, and the outer bark fibers are long and tough. The leaves are alternate, oblong to oblanceolate, 6-12 cm long, 1-3 cm wide, acuminate at the apex, narrowly cuneate at the base, entire, and glabrous on both sides. 8 to 12 flowers are clustered at the top of branches; the back of the bracts is covered with filamentous fine hairs, usually falling off early; the flowers are white and fragrant; the perianth is tubular, 12 to 15 mm long, densely covered with short soft hairs, 4-lobed, with the lobes often 1/3 of the tube length, usually glabrous on the outside or covered with very sparse fine hairs along the midrib. The drupe is orange-red, spherical, about 4.5 mm in diameter, and contains 1 to 2 seeds.

[Habitat distribution] Grown under sparse woods and in thickets on hillsides. Distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan and other places.
