[Source] It is the immature fruit of the peach or mountain peach of the Rosaceae family. Harvest from April to June. Pick the unripe fruits and dry them in the sun. It is mainly produced in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and other places.

[Properties] Dry, immature fruit, rectangular or oval, 1.8-3 cm long, 1.5-2 cm in diameter, 0.9-1.5 cm thick, gradually pointed at the apex, black-beaked, asymmetrical at the base, some with a few brown-red fruit stalks remaining. The surface is yellow-green with a reticular wrinkled texture and densely covered with short soft hairs; the ventral suture of the endocarp is protruding and the dorsal suture is not obvious. The texture is solid and not easy to break. The smell is weak and the taste is slightly sour and astringent. The best ones are dry, large, hard and yellow-green in color.

[Preparation] Brush off the fluff on the peel and dry it in the sun.

【Meridian】 "Compendium of Materia Medica": "enters the hand and foot Jueyin meridians."

[Functions and indications] Treat night sweats, spermatorrhea, hematemesis, malaria, heart and abdominal pain, and bleeding during pregnancy.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 1.5 to 3 qian; or made into pills or powder. For external use: grind into powder and apply on skin or burn and smoke.

[Additional prescription] ① To treat night sweats: one dried peach from the tree, two frosted plums, seven onion roots, two wick stems, one qian of tangerine peel, a pinch each of rice root and barley malt. Boil in 2 cups of water and drink. (Experience Prescription)

[Remarks] In Jiangsu area, the ones with hardened core are called dried peach , and the ones with unhardened core are called peach slave .
