[Source] It is the roots or stems and leaves of the Euphorbiaceae plant, the Euphorbiaceae family.

[Original form] Shrubs or trees, sometimes vine-like, up to 13 to 19 meters long. Branchlets stellately pubescent. The leaves are alternate, long-petiolate, triangular-ovate, 9-15 cm long, 3.5-5 cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, rounded or truncated or shallowly cordate at the base, entire or wavy, glabrous above, or with stellate hairs, and densely covered with stellate hairs beneath. Flowers are unisexual and dioecious; male inflorescences are spike-shaped, single or branched, male flowers are clustered, calyx is 3-lobed, densely covered with yellow hairs, and there are many stamens; female inflorescences are terminal or axillary, female flowers are solitary in bract axils, calyx is 3-lobed, and ovary is 3-chambered. The capsule is spherical and covered with rusty hairs. The seeds are hemispherical, black and shiny. Flowering period is from May to June. The fruiting period is from August to September.

[Habitat distribution] It grows beside bare rocks on hillsides or on stone walls, often creeping along the rocks, and prefers calcareous soil. Distributed in Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong and other places.

【Functions and indications】 Jinhua "Selected Commonly Used Chinese Herbal Medicine Single Prescriptions": "Dispel wind. Treat snake bites, rheumatic pain, and chronic ulcers."

[Additional prescription] To treat joint pain: Take 3 to 5 qian each of the branches and leaves of the Rhizoma Acanthopanacis, the bark of Acanthopanax, and the Herba Lycopodii, decocted in water and taken orally. (Zhejiang Tianri Yam Plant Records)
