[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Pteris xeropteris, a plant of the Pteridaceae family.

【Original form】 The plant is up to 140cm tall. The rhizome is long and horizontal, and is sparsely covered with brown, lanceolate scales along with the base of the petiole. Leaves are distal; petiole is about 35cm long, light brown straw color; leaf blade is nearly herbaceous, broadly lanceolate, 60-80cm long, 12-25cm wide, gradually narrowing at the base, with short needle-like hairs and light yellow rod-shaped glands along the veins below, and pinnate-lobed twice; the lower 6-10 pairs of pinnae gradually shrink into small ear pieces, the middle pinnae are lanceolate, truncate at the base, and the lobes are inclined upward; there are 9-10 pairs of lateral veins, the lower 2 pairs are combined, and the 3rd to 6th pairs all extend to the transparent membrane under the notch. The sori are round, growing in the middle of the lateral veins and arranged in a row on each side of the midrib; the sori cover is small and glabrous.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown under sparse woods or riverside grasslands at an altitude of 150-1800m.
